Monday, April 20, Tuesday, April 21, Wednesday, April 22 from Ponferrada to Villafranca del Bierzo to Laguna to Triacastela to Sarria.  On the Monday to Villafranca- 22 km. some of the trails today had more grape vines. We had 't seen any for quite some time. It was a sunny day with no shade. Very pretty scenery even though it was warm. After arriving at the Albergue they went out for drinks and supper and sat with Beth, Fiona, Bruce and Isabel. They also met a fellow Canadian from Québec City named Jacques.

The vines, once again.

A different Camino marker

Following a river when arriving in Villafranca Del Bierzo.

Tuesday, from Villafranca to Laguna. Another sunny day with 27.6 km. it was a long arduous climb.

It is one of the steepest climbs of the whole camino. The reward is seeing all of the yellow, white, and
purple heather. There are often optional routes that will take you away from following the road and today the gang
opted to take the longer inland route.
These are the kind of the car bridges that are built in the mountains.

Some of the beautiful scenery that they walked through.

Beautiful purple flowers.

Wednesday, April 22- from Laguna to Triacastela- 23.2 km. It was a rainy day, so poncho day.

A lady came out and gave them crêpes to eat. Of course she asked for a donation afterwards.
It rained a little all day. As they were arriving in the village, it started pouring, and even had thunder and lightning. Not as many pictures were taken today.

The cows were on the trail so the trio had to keep their eyes on the road to avoid messing their boots.

The green fields.

Typical small church
The albergue did not offer food so after showers the group headed out to find food. They met up with the Australian couple Bruce and Isabel. When they returned to the albergue the young women in their dorm where already in bed; it was only 8:30.
