Easter Monday- from Najera to Santo Domingo- 21km. Monique and I took the bus today as I am trying to nurse my foot and Monique is giving her blisters are day to dry out and heal. Rémi and Ron left for the trek around 7 am. It was another beautiful day. The girls trip only took about 15-20 minutes.what beautiful countryside once again. Mountains all around us, even snow in the upper levels. Upon arrival Monique and I found a nice café and ordered breakfast. We sat there for over an hour. Afterwards we headed to the Albergue hoping to drop off our packs. What a nice surprise, it opened at 11. Most hostels open at 1. We booked in and reserved beds for Ron and Rémi. Santo Domingo is a really nice spot. Ron and Rémi arrived shortly after 12 noon, so after showers, we headed for lunch. We sat outside, had wine, beer, a salad to share, a pizza to share, and a few tapas to start. Great lunch. I will need to get pictures from Rémi so I will post them tomorrow.
